In order to return money or exchange goods, the buyer must have a receipt (cash or sales receipt).

According to Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Consumer Rights", the exchange of goods of proper quality is carried out if the payment document issued to the consumer along with the sold goods is preserved. The presence of a receipt is the basis for the exchange or return of goods and proof that you purchased the goods in the store.

Make sure that no more than 14 days have passed since the purchase.

A consumer has the right to exchange goods of proper quality within fourteen days, excluding the day of purchase, unless a longer period is announced by the seller (Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Consumer Rights"). The last day when you can demand a refund and take back goods of proper quality will be the 14th day of the period that began the day after purchase.

Check the goods for preservation of their original appearance and signs of wear or damage.

An exchange of a product of proper quality for a similar product is made if it has not been used and if its presentation, consumer properties, seals, labels are preserved, and if at the time of exchange a similar product is not on sale, the consumer has the right to either purchase any other goods from the available range with the corresponding transfer of the cost or terminate the contract and receive a refund in the amount of the cost of the returned product or exchange the product for a similar one upon the first receipt of the corresponding product for sale.

The money paid for the product is returned to the consumer on the day of termination of the contract, and if it is impossible to return the money on the day of termination of the contract - at another time by agreement of the parties, but no later than 7 days.

Please note that if, for example, you bought a dress, shoes and used these goods on the very first day, and then it is clear that the size does not suit you or you do not like the color, then it is no longer possible to return such a product, since there will remain, albeit minor, but still noticeable traces of wear, which will automatically put the product in the "used" category. If it turns out that the product is of inadequate quality, it can only be exchanged under warranty.

In the event of a refusal to exchange the product or refund the funds by a representative of the retail establishment, the only option to resolve the dispute will be to go to court.

To do this, record the fact of contacting the store, that is, hand over to the store representative a statement with legal demands for the exchange of the product, if the accepted applications are refused, it must be sent by mail or courier and keep the evidence of sending.

We also remind you that there is a list of goods of proper quality that are not subject to exchange (return), approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 19, 1994 No. 172 "On the implementation of certain provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On the Protection of Consumer Rights". The list of goods of proper quality that are not subject to exchange (return) includes: food products, medicines and products, sanitary hygiene items.
